Samsung GT-N8000 Galaxy Note Sequel Is Really a Tablet?

We’ve recently seen a certain Samsung GT-N8000, with its GT-N8010 and GT-N8013 variants, get its WiFi certification and we thought, judging by the model numbers, that it might be some sort of sequel to the Galaxy Note, which is the GT-N7000.

According to the FCC documents, we’re really looking at a tablet here. The Samsung GT-N8010 and GT-N8013 have been certified WiFi-wise and the type of the equipment clearly states “Portable Tablet Computer”. As hinted by the label and its location above, we might be looking at either a new Samsung tablet (which might be on its way to MWC in Barcelona) or a variant of some sort for an existing device. The capabilities, as described by the FCC papers are 802.11 a/b/g/n WLAN, 802.11 a/n UNII and Bluetooth.

Now, if we come to think of the previous WiFi certifications, model numbers in this very same family were listed as Smartphones. Getting back to the old “is it a smartphone? is it a tablet?” cliche, we might still be seeing a Galaxy Note smartphone-tablet hybrid follow-up.
