Purple Motorola Droid RAZR Release Date Leaked
Motorola’s presence at the Consumer Electronics Show this week has been dominated by news of the Droid 4, bringing a QWERTY keyboard option to Verizon LTE, and the Droid RAZR Maxx, finally pairing an LTE phone with a battery capable of extended use. Those weren’t the only handsets the manufacturer announced, though with their feature sets it’s easy to see why they commanded so much attention. Motorola also revealed its plans to release a new variant on the original Droid RAZR, offering the Android in a new purple facade. At the time the company announced the phone it didn’t share any launch details, but now a leak has identified a candidate for the purple RAZR’s release date.
According to the leak, Verizon will begin selling the purple RAZR in just over a week, on January 23. The arrival of the purple model will also signal a decrease in storage capacity, with the phone being sold without the 16GB microSD we’re used to seeing, leaving it with its 16GB of internal flash storage. The new RAZR Maxx will stay at 32GB total, but all varieties of the original RAZR, including this new purple model, will be 16GB devices. Look for the phone to arrive for $200 on-contract.
