LG Spectrum Verizon LTE Launch Details Confirmed

LG’s Spectrum is about to become the company’s flagship phone on Verizon’s LTE network. We got a really good look at the phone last week, with its 1.5GHz dual-core processor and 4.5-inch 720p display, and heard a rumor that the phone would become available on January 19. At a press event this morning, LG and Verizon finally announced the Spectrum, confirming the January 19 launch date and revealing the phone’s price tag.

Considering the high-end specs, the LG Spectrum will be quite affordable on Verizon. We were expecting to learn of a launch price in the $250-$300 range, but as it turns out, the smartphone will go for only about $200 on-contract.

The Spectrum features an eight-megapixel main camera alongside a 1.3-megapixel front-facer. The 720p display is covered in Gorilla Glass for scratch resistance, and has a 329ppi density. Verizon and LG have managed to secure some exclusive content for the phone, like a 720p streaming video feed from ESPN.
