Verizon Deems “Convenient” To Add $2 To Your Next Bill Payment

Verizon Wireless has just decided to add an extra $2 to your next phone bill if you’re a customer that makes single bill payments online or by the phone. Their calling it their new “Convenience Fee” and it’ll start hitting your wallet as of january 15th.

Verizon Claims that the fee will allow the company to continue supporting these payment options, but they’ve also clarified that the fee will be waived for those who pay through an electronic check or enroll in Verizon’s AutoPay service. Customers who choose to pay the traditional way at any store, online through a bank, physical mail will also not be charged.

Surely two bucks is less than the price of a latte, but I for one would rather buy the latte than give it to Verizon. You’d wonder how the largest wireless carrier in the US has a hard time supporting their own way to bill you, but then again, that’s the name of the game.
