BlackBerry App World Gets Regional Tweak in Version 3.1.0.58

App World 3.1 introduced some interesting changes to RIM’s BlackBerry app store, adding content ratings, implementing a gifting system, and finally letting you access the store over WiFi, saving on your precious monthly bandwidth allotment. RIM’s continued to make minor tweaks to the app since it left its beta testing period in mid-December, and now the latest 3.1.0.58 version is available.

This release adds a new tab for region-specific apps, displaying a subset of all available apps based on the country in which you’re accessing the service. The feature doesn’t give you access to any apps you wouldn’t have had already, but makes it easier to see which are available to you.

Beyond that, there are some general bugfixes, but nothing worth writing home about (nor creating a changelog for, apparently). We’ve heard reports that the update to 3.1.0.58 may not yet be going out OTA to existing installations, but you can always initiate a manual install by visiting the App World website and downloading directly.
