Samsung Announces Galaxy Y Duos, Y Pro Duos Dual-SIM Androids
The Samsung Galaxy Y and Galaxy Y Pro were part of the pre-IFA announcement the Korean manufacturer made, the two phones being entry-level Android smartphones with modest specs. Now Samsung is taking it one step further slapping dual-SIM capabilities on the two devices and announcing the Galaxy Y Duos and Galaxy Y Pro Duos.
Both devices sport dual-SIM solutions that allow for two separate phone numbers and a simultaneous use of data on the same device. The Galaxy Y Duos packs a 3.1-inch QVGA screen, three megapixel camera, microSD storage (expandable to 32GB) and a processor clocking at a modest 832MHz, enough to power Gingerbread. The Galaxy Y Pro Duos has a 2.6-inch LQVGA (landscape QVGA) and a QWERTY keyboard to differentiate it from its Galaxy Y cousin.
Starting from next month, the two phones will hit the Russian market and the Y Duos will gradually expand to Europe, CIS, Latin America, Southeast and Southwest Asia, Middle East, Africa and China. The Y Pro Duos will arrive to Europe, CIS, Latin America, Southwest Asia, Middle East and Africa.
