Nokia Confirms Battery Problem With Some Lumia 800, Promises Fix

The Nokia Lumia 800 has a non-user-replaceable battery and, while Windows Phone does a great job at maintaining a relatively good battery life, some Lumia 800 users were complaining about poor battery life on the handset.

Nokia has acknowledged the problem and has promised to deliver a fix which will remedy the issue. Thankfully it has to do with a software bit so the problem can be easily solved but those who don’t want to wait for the fix — coming early next year — can ask for a replacement phone. Diving in the Diagnostics Tool by dialing ##634# allows you to check whether your unit is having this issue: under Battery Status, if full charge capacity reads below 1000mAh, you’re probably affected.
