Nokia CES Event Press Invite Hints Lumia Windows Phone

Nokia has recently entered the U.S. market with its Lumia 710 Windows Phone on T-Mobile — available in January for only $49 with a two-year contract — but that’s not the big thing we’ve all been expecting from Espoo.

The image above appears to be a CES Press Event invitation for January 9 where the phone-maker is expected to launch a flagship Windows Phone for the American Market — let it be called the Lumia 900 or something else (Ace). Unnamed sources close to Microsoft seem to have confirmed that Nokia is in talks with several U.S. carriers in order to bring an LTE phone to America. Rumor has it Windows Phone Tango will be the platform powering the devices, in which case we might as well expect several phones to be unveiled, aside from the flagship — given the chassis specs which are both different and lower-spec’d.

As with Windows Phone in general, where AT&T is the “premier carrier”, Ma Bell is also expected to be the primary partner for Nokia Windows Phones in the U.S. — even though some Verizon plans might be unveiled too.
