Motorola Droid RAZR Maxx Spotted in Verizon Computers

We kicked-off December by uncovering some evidence pointing to a new Motorola Android in the works. The EXIF data in some photos we looked at revealed they were taken by the Motorola Droid RAZRMAX. Even though the Droid RAZR is still a relatively brand-new handset, it certainly looked like Motorola might already be planning a refresh. There wasn’t much pointing to just what changes might be in store, but the presence of some very RAZR-like models for the Chinese market had us thinking an upgrade to the display or camera might be in order. Today, we get to see another clue pointing to the phone’s US release.

A leaked screenshot from Verizon’s computers shows the Droid RAZR Maxx as an upcoming 4G LTE handset. When we first heard the RAZRMAX name, we noted that Verizon once had a feature phone called the Razr Maxx, with the space and extra “x”. Just as our new Android-powered RAZR simply added the Droid name, it now looks like the RAZR Maxx is following exactly the same steps.

We still need some tech specs before we can really form a picture of what to expect from the RAZR Maxx, but it’s reassuring to at least see the first real sign that it’s on its way to Verizon.
