Verizon Rolling-Out More LTE; 11 New Markets Starting Today
The only thing better than 4G LTE speeds, is having them everywhere. Verizon has just announced that starting today they’ll be expanding to 11 new markets across the country and they’ll also provide more coverage to 7 existing LTE markets.
The new markets include: Dover, Del.; Lafayette, Ind.; Fitchburg/Leominster, Mass.; Duluth, The Rochester Area and St. Cloud, Minn.; Manchester/Nashua, N.H.; Poughkeepsie, N.Y.; Findlay/Tiffin and Youngstown/Warren, Ohio; and Indiana, Pa.
The markets being expanded are: San Diego and San Francisco, Ca.; Washington, D.C.; Savannah, Ga.; Chicago, Ill.; and Baltimore and Hagerstown, Md.
According to David Small, Verizon’s CTO: “In one year and 10 days, we have brought 4G LTE to more than 200 million people. That’s more than twice as fast as our 3G network rollout.”
So congratulations to those of you that were lucky to be on the list, and for those of you that aren’t, it should only be a matter of time. I’ve gotta hand it to Verizon for how aggressive they’ve been in pushing LTE so far.
