Android Market Review Filters Help Find Pertinent Comments
Last week, we saw the arrival of a pretty low-key update to the Android Market, but one still with undeniably useful features. Adding permalinks to each review made it that much easier to share and compare user comments, and the addition of information on app version and phone model provided a new way to spot which reviews are most relevant to your needs. Google continues rolling-out the same sort of updates this week, bringing some new filtering options to the web-based Market.
Pull up an app in the Android Market, click over to the user reviews tab, and you’ll see some drop-down boxes for selecting new filter options. You can now restrict the list of which reviews you’re looking at by what version is being discussed, taking advantage of the addition of that data last week. Similarly, you can only display those reviews that are coming from other users with the same phone you have, or those with certain star ratings.
Last week’s updates may have been fine on their own, but this new change sure seems to make them a whole lot more useful. We’ve said it before and it’s worth repeating now: keep it coming with these usability tweaks, Google!
