Samsung Conquer Coming to MetroPCS with LTE (Image)

The phone above very much resembles the Samsung Conquer 4G on Sprint announced back in August but don’t let the resemblance fool you though; the phone pictured seems to be MetroPCS’ own Samsung SCH-R940, codenamed Tikal.

As a variant of the Samsung Conquer, expect it to sport, just like its Sprint cousin, a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 3.5-inch HVGA display, 3.2-megapixel camera, and a 1.3-megapixel webcam. It should be powered by Google’s Android 2.3 Gingerbread and, while the Sprint Conquer 4G has WiMAX support, the Tikal will offer 4G LTE connectivity-support. If the recently announced LG Esteem 4G LTE goes for $249 with slightly better specs, expect the Samsung SCH-R940 to be cheaper, hopefully below $200 like currently the Samsung Galaxy Indulge.
