Microsoft Australia Confirms Multi-Platform Lync Launch This Year

Microsoft’s instant messaging solution for businesses, Lync, is expected by many users to arrive to Windows Phone 7. The Redmond-platform already supports Windows Live Messenger for the typical user but Lync takes it to the next level.

Microsoft Australia confirmed on Twitter that Lync will be landing on Windows Phone, Android, iOS and BlackBerry in the next four weeks. Looks like Microsoft is thinking multi-platform and is set to do it this year. With Lync you’ll be able to do voice and video messaging, conferencing, file sharing and much more.

We’ve already heard rumors that placed the Lync launch in the last quarter of the year, though Symbian was also mentioned and it is now missing from the confirmation. With the strong relationship between Microsoft and Nokia it might have been only an omission.
