Google Samsung Galaxy Nexus Rooted Before Availability
October 18 is a reference date for Android fans as it coincides with both the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and the Samsung Galaxy Nexus launch. Pegged for a possible November 17 Verizon launch, the phone has already been rooted.
Since the Nexus line (Nexus One, Nexus S and now the Galaxy Nexus) are “the pure” Android phones, it shouldn’t be very difficult to root them. This was true in the past and it is true in the Galaxy Nexus’ case too. The procedure is called Superboot and it is a very easy one to apply and use: you don’t need to flash anything or play with ADB; instead you grab the boot.img which will automatically root the device on boot. Of course, you do all this at your own risk!
