Lots of Windows Phone Launch Events Starting Monday

Katy Perry’s Windows Phone launch party last year was pretty cool, but this year Microsoft is going to be hosting quite a few more Windows Phone related events beginning next week in a number of different cities to help promote the new “Mango” 7.5 version of the operating system. First up, in New York City on November 7th beginning at 9:30 am and going through-out the day there will be a “unique entertainment experience” in Herald Square. This event will be going on all day at 34th Street and 6th Avenue, and according to Peter Laudati’s blog post on the matter, it’s going to be BIG. All you have to do is show up.

Also in New York City on November 7th and 8th in the evening beginning at 6pm there will be a “Spend the Night with Windows Phone” event. There will be food, Fruit Ninja battles, and a performance by Matt & Kim. You’ll have to register for that event at Facebook. “Spend the Night with Windows Phone” also has other dates and different concert performances in Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, and San Francisco at various days through out the coming weeks. Check the Facebook page for more details.

In addition to those events, there will also be a series of “Windows Phone Inner Circle” events. These events seem to be smaller, though some will overlap with the “Night Out” ones above. You’ll find Windows Phone Inner Circle events in NYC, Miami, San Diego, Washington DC, Denver, Baltimore, St. Louis, Chicago, Boston, Atlanta, Houston, Philadelphia, Charolotte, Dallas, Nashville, Phoenix, and Seattle. You can find more info about those parties on this blog post and you can register for any of them here.

All of these events are free and if you’ve never used Windows Phone, any of them would be a good chance to check it out and see what’s good about it. Or if you’re already a Windows Phone fan, I’m sure they’ll also be plenty of fun.
