How to Swipe Away Banner Notifications in iOS 5 (Video)

One of the best new features of iOS 5 is its revamped notification system. You can see notifications (and act on them) from your lock screen, you can keep track of multiple notifications in the Notification Center with a swipe from the top, and you can specify whether you want notifications for a given program to show up as a pop up, a banner, or you can toggle them off completly. The banner notification is the most useful because it doesn’t interupt your workflow, unlike the pop up variety that require you to action before it goes away. The problem with the banner notifications is dismissing them isn’t intuitive, as they are in Windows Phone 7. After some experimentation, we found that to dismiss a banner notification, you simply swipe down on the banner (perhaps not the most intuitive action).
