Samsung Prepping SCH-W999 Clamshell Android for China
The Sharp Aquos Hybrid 007SH was introduced as the first clamshell Android in the world and it appears that other manufacturers are trying out their luck with the once popular form factor. Samsung is preparing to soon release a flip-phone running Android in China, following the footsteps of the W899.
The Samsung SCH-W999 appears to pack two displays that allow the owner to either use the phone as a regular candy-bar or flip it open to reveal keypad. The two screens will use OLED technology and display images of WVGA resolution; also in the phone will be Bluetooth 3.0, WiFi b/g/n, all powered by (a yet unknown version of) Google Android.
