Windows Phone Tango and Apollo To Bring New Chassis Specs?
One year ago, when the world was preparing to welcome Windows Phone to the game, Microsoft was talking about three chassis specifications with two screen resolutions: WVGA (which got launched and is the sole resolution on Windows Phones as of today) and HVGA (480 x 320) which, as part of chassis-two, didn’t make it to the market.
According to Twitter rumors, Microsoft will be bringing chassis-two and three to the market with the occasion of future Windows Phone versions. Tango will allegedly bring HVGA as part of chassis-two, and Apollo will bump Windows Phone screens to HD 1280×720 as part of chassis-three.
Andrew Lees recently talked about LTE and dual-core processors when he expressed his thoughts that Microsoft will implement them when the platform will be ready to support such new technologies. According to the same source as above, Tango will be the version to bring LTE and the world will have to wait for Apollo to see dual-core chips.
Of course you’ll need your grain of salt to digest this but Windows Phone is preparing for its first anniversary, a year in which we’ve seen NoDo and Mango, a minor and a major update. Tango might just be the next one to allow Windows Phones to reach that low Android price tag Ballmer talked about.
