Windows Phone On-Screen Keyboard Not Playing Nice With Mango?

As the Mango distribution continues, more and more users are able to update to the latest Windows Phone release, and the process is largely taking place without issue. Of course, it wouldn’t be a smartphone software update without a few road bumps, and the most recent we’ve learned of that’s affecting some Mango users has to do with the on-screen keyboard.

Post-update, a number of users are noticing that the keyboard simply decides to give up on them while they’re in the middle of typing something out. Other times, the keyboard can’t even be summoned in the first place. We first heard about this issue last week, when it seemed quite sporadic, but it’s becoming increasingly clear that there are a good number of users being affected by the issue.

It’s unclear just what’s causing this to happen, but the good news is that Microsoft is aware of the situation, and is working to resolve it. For now, that means gathering info from users who have noticed this behavior. Once a cause is nailed-down, expect a fix to arrive via future update.
