Verizon Leak Adds Support For HTC Vigor Arriving As Rezound

What we’ve known all summer as the HTC Vigor looked like it might be getting a new name last month, with the discovery of the Vigor’s model number matched-up in a Verizon computer system to the name HTC Rezound. Just a few days later, though, Verizon’s website was referring to the phone as the Vigor again. Things have been quiet for the past couple weeks, but now a new leaked pic shows the phone once again as the Rezound, adding credence to the theory that the phone will launch under that name.
The new shot comes from Verizon’s device management system, mentioning “Rezound” in several places. Droid-life also reports that its sources have been using the name Rezound as of late. Admittedly, we were hoping rumors of the name might fizzle, as it’s a bit of an odd one, but we’ll learn to love it. After all, this is an Android we’ve heard will feature a dual-core 1.5GHz processor, a full 720p display, and have LTE connectivity; that’s a phone that sounds pretty easy to love.
The remaining question is when the Rezound might arrive. Earlier rumors pointed to late October, but there haven’t been any recent updates. It’s looking likely that we’ll be finding out pretty soon; we’ll keep our eyes out for new info as it arrives.
