Will Motorola’s Atrix 2 Be Coming To Europe Or Not?

Motorola has several high-end phones on the horizon, like the Droid RAZR we’re expecting to hear announced next week. One such model will be the Atrix 2, following-up on the company’s dual-core Android from this past spring. We heard about plans for the phone’s debut on AT*T when it was announced yesterday, but what about its global release? From the sounds of Motorola’s press release, the Atrix 2 may not be finding a home in Europe.

The Atrix 2 will first come to AT&T in the States, with a release this month. Following that launch, Motorola notes that the phone will be released in China, Asia, Middle East and Latin America, with mention of Europe suspiciously absent; after all, the first Atrix made it to Europe without issue.

What could be going on here? Possibilities run the gamut from “innocent oversight” up to a conscious decision to keep the Atrix 2 out of the European market. Maybe Motorola is waiting to release one of its still-more-powerful models, and is concerned that even the Atrix 2’s dual-core 1GHz processor won’t sufficiently impress European crowds. Maybe the Atrix 2 will make a showing after all, and we’ll just find out via a separate announcement; for now we’ll have to wait and see.
