Samsung’s Nexus Prime Announcement Coming “Very Shortly”

Samsung wouldn’t let a little thing like not having the Nexus Prime ready to show-off keep it from CTIA, so there are plenty of personnel about, even in the absence of this most-anticipated smartphone. One of the execs present is Andrew Glass, Sales Director for Samsung’s UK operation. Earlier today he accepted an award from tech site T3, honoring the Galaxy S II as the “Phone of the Year”, and took the opportunity to drop a few comments about the Nexus Prime.

Now, if we’re to believe the prognostications of Eldar Murtazin, the source of this whole delay has been fear over patent-infringing IP, and a last-minute scrub to try to remove any offending features. The way Murtazin told it, there was no ETA in sight.

According to Glass, on the other hand, even without a formal unveiling, the Nexus Prime is well on its way to release. He didn’t address any of the speculation over the source of the delay, but described Samsung’s official announcement as coming “very shortly”, and that we “will be seeing it in shops sooner than you think.” There have been rumors of an early-November release; might Samsung actually get the phone out before the end of October?
