Motorola Announces New Webtop Lapdock 100

With phones like the Bionic and Photon 4G, Motorola continues to develop smartphones compatible with Webtop accessories, like the laptop dock made famous by the Atrix earlier this year. With more such phones on the way, Motorola is coming out with an updated model, the Lapdock 100.

For starters, the Lapdock 100 exchanged its black facade for a more charcoal-looking exterior. It has the same sort of large keyboard as before, making typing feel so much more natural than on a tiny touchscreen. The dock’s display now measures-in at 10.1 inches, down from the 11.6 original, and although we couldn’t find the exact figure, it’s likely the same 1366×768 resolution.

The Lapdock 100 will be compatible with future Webtop-enabled models (and existing ones), and weighs just 2.2 pounds. AT&T will be the first to get it, with sales starting online on October 17. Verizon and Sprint will get the dock before the year’s end.
