Samsung has recently released the over-the-air Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread update for the Galaxy S II which not only contains the new version of Google’s mobile platform — with changes to the scrolling mechanism in order to prevent patent infringement — but makes the phone even better.

According to reports, the manufacturer has announced the upcoming Galaxy S II ROM refresh which will bring “Big Home”, a feature that increases the size of icons by almost a third. Additionally, a new widget will be included: a firmware-over-the-air widget that will notify of the existence of an update and make the process easier.
