Nokia Paying Developers for Building Windows Phone Apps (Report)
In order to have a strong portfolio of applications at launch (whenever that will be), Nokia is allegedly offering incentives and paying developers to build Windows Phone applications, according to a CNN report.
Quoting three people “involved in the negotiations”, the article claims that Nokia promises developers that it will pre-install their applications on upcoming phone(s). App promotion and funding the software development are also reportedly in as Nokia’s attempt to lure developers into coding apps for the Redmond platform. The Finnish company’s statement confirms that Nokia offers app developers various incentives, some even in collaboration with Redmond, including assistance and marketing. Microsoft did not comment on the statement but the Windows Phone platform maker is known to have (reportedly) done that in the past too.
