Just like it was rumored, HTC has officially unveiled the HTC Explorer (ex-Pico) Android smartphone as the company’s most affordable entry-level device running Google’s platform.

The tiny Explorer packs a 3.2-inch HVGA display with 320 x 480 resolution, a modest 600MHz processor, 512MB of RAM and a three-megapixel camera. It runs Google Android 2.3.5 with HTC’s own Sense on top of it, in its 3.5 version iteration. It will be available in EMEA and Asia starting Q4 2011 in three flavors: Metallic Black, Active Black and Metallic Navy. If you want to further customize the device, there will be optional back covers in Metallic Blue, Metallic Orange, Metallic White and Metallic Purple shades.
