Nokia Names Henry Tirri As New CTO To Watch Over WP7 Roll-Out

Ever since Microsoft and Nokia announced their strategic alliance back in February, there’s been an incredible buzz around upcoming Nokia Windows Phones, primarily because of the Finnish manufacturer’s reputation of building excellent hardware.

Now that Nokia puts all of its faith in Microsoft (and most probably, vice-versa), it is crucial that the first wave of Nokia Windows Phones, whenever that will be, have a great impact on the market. The roll-out has to also affect the second wave of phones that will come to US and Australia in Q1 2012. In order to watch over the Nokia Windows Phone roll-out, the manufacturer appointed Henry Tirri as its new Chief Technology Officer.

Terri will replace Richard Green who decided to leave the company according to official wording from Nokia. Green reportedly often disagreed with Nokia’s CEO, Stephen Elop. Terri, aside from its new position as CTO, is, as of today, executive vice-president and member of the Nokia leadership team.
