Skype “Working Hard” To Fix iOS XSS Vulnerability

If you are using Skype on your iPhone you must be aware that you are exposed to a cross-site scripting vulnerability. Skype is aware of the issue and is working hard to fix the problem but you’d better be off being careful!

The Chat Message window in version 3.0.1 and earlier contains a cross-site scripting vulnerability that allows an attacker to execute malicious JavaScript code. It runs when you view a chat message and it exposes your information, such as the Address Book, which can easily be stolen.

“We are working hard to fix this reported issue in our next planned release which we hope to roll out imminently. In the meantime we always recommend people exercise caution in only accepting friend requests from people they know and practice common sense internet security as always”, says Skype.
