Solving App Overload with Samsung Pure Breeze

Samsung Pure Breeze Launcher is a cool launcher replacement app that tries to organize your apps into groups, helping to prevent app-overload. You might be tempted to think that this is a new launcher coming to Android-powered phones built by Samsung (I did), but that may not be the case.

The “Samsung” that makes this app is “Samsung San Jose Mobile Labs”, and they are distinct and separate from the “Samsung” that makes your cellphone — it says so in the several page EULA that you have to read and agree to before you can start using the app. This Samsung and that Samsung are interrelated, but not the same. Confused yet?

Back to the app.

This launcher replacement essentially replaces your homescreens and app drawer, combining them into one, and letting you drag and drop apps from the “All Apps” screen into color-coded pages (which you can rename). For your most frequently used apps you can add them to your “Kite” which is always available by pressing the Home button.

It’s a very cool concept, but not very easy to describe or get used to. Lucky for us, Samsung has put together a couple videos to show off how it all works.
