Motorola Pro Expected In UK Mid-Late September

It’s been a long time since we heard about plans to bring Motorola’s Droid Pro to Europe, dropping the Droid moniker, as the Motorola Pro. The Droid Pro’s been out in the US since fall of last year, and over winter we learned of plans for its global launch. Since then, though, things have been pretty quiet. We had heard of its French launch last month, but the UK has been kept waiting. Now it finally looks like the Pro is about to arrive, in about a month’s time.

Retailer Clove has updated its page for the Pro to reflect “mid-late September” availability. Until then, you can get in your pre-order for the phone (assuming you trust the release not to see additional delays), and then pick it up when the day comes for what works out to just under $700. If this release window sticks, we might be able to narrow-down the date even a little more as we move into September.

That’s some serious cash to drop on a year-old Android with a 3.1-inch screen, Froyo, and a single-core processor, but it’s not so easy to find Androids with this kind of BlackBerry-like form factor, and for recovering BB addicts, that could be the Motorola Pro’s big selling point. Has anyone out there eagerly been awaiting this one?
