LG Makes the Android-Powered E730 ‘Optimus Sol’ Official
Shortly after we caught a glance at the LG Optimus Sol press renders, the Korean manufacturer has made the LG E730 (aka Optimus Sol) official and it encourages the outdoor use of the phone because of its unique display.
The Optimus Sol features a 3.8-inch WVGA “Ultra AMOLED” display which, according to LG, “has a two-fold advanced reflection rate compared to standard AMOLED displays” which not only makes images look better but offers fantastic outdoor visibility. That aside, the Optimus Sol features a single-core 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8255 processor, 512MB RAM, 2GB ROM, five-megapixel auto-focus camera, Bluetooth 3.0, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, aGPS and DLNA support. Everything is powered by Google’s Android 2.3 Gingerbread mobile platform.
Aside from its rather large 1,500 mAh battery, the LG Optimus Sol also features a new power management system which, according to the manufacturer, will offer a 20 to 30 percent boost for battery life. The phone is coming to Europe mid-September, after which it’s headed to Central and South America. As for color choices, it will come in black, titan and white, depending on regions. There’s no info on pricing yet.
