T-Mobile G2, myTouch 4G In-Store Gingerbread Updates From 08/06
We’re happy to inform you, and you’ll be happy to find out that your T-Mobile G2 and/or your T-Mobile myTouch 4G will get its official Google Android 2.3 Gingerbread update in-store too from August 6. The information comes from the carrier itself and can be trusted. The two phones already started receiving the over-the-air update on July 27 and July 21.
Your T-Mobile G2 will get Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread along with new applications, such as Tell HTC and Google Books. Notification bar color scheme is changed to black and the battery indicator is new; so is the one for phone, web network signal indicator added. If you’re in a call and press the power key it will disable the proximity sensor.
As far as improvements go, there have been some changes to WiFi calling, new SMS and e-mail notification as well as improvements to sending MMS from the Gallery.
The T-Mobile myTouch 4G will get Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread with Exchange 2010 compatibility as well as a brand new version of Swype. Additionally, there are improvements to Bluetooth audio, display is more stable and responsive during boot up or use, and the domestic roaming data connection is also more reliable.
