Samsung Galaxy S II, Function or Fascinate II For Verizon?

After Verizon’s recent stuttering regarding its own Samsung Galaxy S II variant — around the fact whether it will have 4G LTE or not — here comes another information from the carrier, this time regarding the phone’s name.

There might be some truth to this; Verizon called the Samsung Galaxy S II the Fascinate II. It could be logical as the Galaxy S is followed by the Galaxy S II and the Fascinate, Verizon’s variant, could be very well followed by the Fascinate II. We could easily rule out the Galaxy S II name as it will definitely have a separate denomination in the U.S., depending on the carrier, but what happened to the Function? The Function, together with the Attain and the Within, were trademarked by Samsung and indications were pretty strong about them being the U.S. carrier version names.
