HTC EVO 3D GSM Version Not Coming to UK Until September
Smartphone fans in the US may be lamenting that they still can’t get their hands on a Samsung Galaxy S2, but maybe they can find some kindred souls in those European smartphone enthusiasts who have been looking forward to the HTC EVO 3D. While the CDMA version is out now on Sprint in the US, Europe waits for the GSM edition. We heard earlier this week that Vodafone in the UK grew so frustrated with the situation, it’s no longer interested in the EVO 3D at all, and won’t be bothering to carry the smartphone even after it becomes available. Sure, there will be other places to pick the model up, but the question still remained: how long would these delays last for?
HTC has the answer for us, saying that the GSM EVO 3D will hit the UK sometime this September. It’s looking like this fall is going to be a heck of a busy time for smartphones, with both the next iPhone and Windows Phone 7 Mango arriving, so we can’t blame Vodafone for thinking that two more months for the EVO 3D means two months too late.
If you will be making the wait for the EVO 3D, look for Carphone Warehouse in the UK to be among the first selling the smartphone when it arrives this September.
