T-Mobile Users Finally Get Dell Venue Pro Stability Update

After waiting for months, word finally came in June that an update to the Dell Venue Pro, one which would aim to address stability problems with the smartphone, would finally be arriving this summer. Some DVPs that were sent in for servicing reportedly came back to their owners with the update already installed, but there was still no way to upgrade your own phone. Then, just last week, the update landed, with an announcement that it was headed out to users everywhere. Well, that turned out to be premature, causing the company to backtrack and inform users of the phone on T-Mobile in the States that they’d be waiting another week. Now their wait is over as well, with the company’s rep tweeting that the update should be available for T-Mobile as of today.

Even if you haven’t received an update notification yet, try plugging your DVP into your PC and running Zune; you should still be able to snag it. Post-install, you can look forward to a more stable platform, with reliable WiFi connectivity, and a couple small new features sprinkled in to sweeten the deal. It should hold you over nicely until Mango arrives, which seems closer and closer every day.
