BlackBerry Bold 9790 Shows Up Again, Now In Tutorial Videos

Back at the tail end of May, we got a look at the BlackBerry Bold 9790, and it left us scratching our head a bit. It looked like a refresh of the 9700 line, but weren’t sure how it would fit into RIM’s plans when placed up against the new models coming out in the 9900 line. We wondered if the smartphone might just be an internal prototype never meant to see the light of day. That suspicion was slightly reinforced when we tried to deduce what the seven BlackBerry models RIM claims it will release this year could be; we could think of more than seven, and others look far more likely to arrive than the 9790. We may have to change our thoughts about the smartphone, with the leak of some tutorial videos for the Bold 9790.

These videos make now a case for the 9790 being among the seven BlackBerrys coming out this year. Supposedly, the model has been going by the codename Bellagio, and will feature internal hardware similar to, if not ripped right from the Bold 9900; specifically, its 8GB of internal flash storage has been mentioned. We’re still at a loss to say where this BlackBerry will end up, when it will get there, or what you’ll pay for it, but it looks like this is one BlackBerry model we’ll be hearing from again.
