Pandas vs Ninjas Brings More Not-Quite-Angry-Birds Gaming to BB
Two wrongs don’t make a right, but can two Angry Birds knock-offs make for one passable replacement? That’s for BlackBerry users to decide, as the platform has gained another stand-in for Rovio’s missing megahit. We took a look at Angry Farm several months back, and now new contender Pandas vs Ninjas is trying to make a name for itself in the physics-based animal-chucking BlackBerry gaming niche.
Angry Farm may have 120 levels, but at $5, costs significantly more than PvN’s $3; with casual games like this, every dollar matters (and it hardly seems fair that the knock-offs cost more than legit Angry Birds on other platforms). PvN supposedly plays slightly different from Angry Birds or Angry Farm, and can take a moment to get used to the control, but reviews so far are nothing short of glowing, praising the title as a welcome find in an app library that can be lacking.
What about an official port of Angry Birds for the BlackBerry? Well, the PlayBook is getting it, but we haven’t heard about much in the way of progress towards bringing the game to the company’s smartphones. Maybe once the new models with their 1GHz+ processors start arriving, we’ll see an increase in interest towards BlackBerry gaming.
