Qualcomm Outs Vellamo Mobile Web Benchmark

There’s a cornucopia of benchmark applications and tools for Android-powered smartphones and it really take some time and user adoption for a couple of them to become standard on the Internet and in the community. Qualcomm has released another benchmark tool but this time it tests the mobile web.

Vellamo will evaluate browser performance on Android-powered phones, and, after a series of tests, it will generate a score plus a graph to see just how well your phone is doing. Performance and stability are tested and the stages emphasize on networking, JavaScript, rendering, and user experience. We tested our LG Optimus 3D running Android 2.2 Froyo with its TI-OMAP 4 CPU and the result was 718, which is just a tad behind its main competitor, the Gingerbread-powered EVO 3D. For the sake of comparison, our HTC Desire still on Froyo scored 511. You can grab the app for free by following the Market link below!
