LG Launches Optimus Pro and Optimus Net Gingerbread Phones

You might remember the LG Optimus Pro with its spacious keyboard and the Optimus Net running Gingerbread we told you about recently passing FCC with AT&T bands. The Korean manufacturer just announced the two smartphones officially.

The LG Optimus Pro (LG-C660) and the LG Optimus Net (LG-P690) both run Google’s Android 2.3 Gingerbread mobile platform. The Optimus Pro, referred to as the social networking phone, sports a full QWERTY keyboard, 2.8-inch display, 800MHz CPU, three-megapixel camera, 1500mAh battery and will be most probably competing with the HTC ChaCha.

The Optimus Net features LG Social+ and is also social networking-centric. It has a 3.2 HVGA display, and, as the Optimus Pro, features an 800MHz processor, 512MB of RAM, 1500mAh battery and runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread. Depending on the carrier, some Optimus Net variants will also sport NFC and some will have dual-SIM capabilities in Brazil, China, Asia and the CIS region. The North American version will include a QWERTY keyboard.

Pricing has not yet been revealed but both smartphones will be available starting this summer in 30 markets beginning with Europe.
