iRiver Vanilla White Android Spotted In Leaked Ad
You might remember iRiver from some of the media players it released throughout the 2000s. Nowadays, we’re more likely to just keep our MP3s on our smartphones than to carry around a separate PMP, so it only reasons that iRiver would follow its user base as it started moving to smartphones. A leaked advertisement shows off what the company’s been working on, revealing the lily white iRiver I-L1 Vanilla.
The Vanilla seems aptly named, as not only does it look the part, but its specs are pretty ho-hum, running Froyo on either a 600MHz or 800MHz CPU. Its screen is a 3.5-inch WVGA LCD, and it should come with a 4GB microSD card for storage. The Vanilla is destined for release in South Korea, so they’ll at least get some cool features like DMB for mobile television, but that will be first to be cut if iRiver ever decides to bring the smartphone to a wider audience.
All that said, we can’t deny that the Vanilla does look kind of sharp, but it’s going to take a more significant effort for the company to make in-roads to the smartphone world.
