32% of Total iPhone 4 Devices in the U.S. Are Now CDMA on Verizon
When Verizon launched the iPhone 4 back in January, AT&T already had a six month advantage as an exclusive carrier for the Apple smartphone. Available since February 10, the Verizon iPhone 4 has quickly gained important percentages to now represent a third of total iPhones.
According to a recent Localytics study, the CDMA iPhone 4 now accounts for more than 32% of the total number of Apple smartphones on the U.S. market. What’s left, those almost 68% represent both AT&T’s GSM iPhone 4 devices as well as unlocked phones which were either imported or later made available by the manufacturer itself.
With the new iPhone just around the corner we can expect a simultaneous launch on both (and maybe even three) carriers so there will be no jump start for anyone. Numbers then would be really representative, not that Verizon gaining 32% in six months is negligible.
