Dell Venue Pro Update Release Details Emerge

Yesterday we got word that the update to finally fix the Dell Venue Pro’s WiFi and stability issues would be coming to us next month. As should be no surprise when it comes to updates for Windows Phone 7 devices, the truth turns out to be slightly more complicated, but DVP users should all still be able to get their hands on the update by the end of August.

Like we said earlier, some users who are sending their DVPs off for service are getting them back with the new software already on-board, and have given us our first confirmation that it really does seem to work and make the phone’s operation smoother and more responsive. Don’t go breaking your DVP just to have a reason for Dell to service it, or anything, since there’s no guarantee you’ll be among those getting back an updated model

WMPoweruser reports that as of now, new DVP sales have the updated software on them, so this might be the most predictable route by which to get the update early, assuming you don’t already have a DVP.

The first wave of update notifications will supposedly go out to DVP users on July 13. AT&T subscribers, however, will have a slightly longer wait, with the carrier not expected to finish clearing the update for distribution until early August. That’s not too bad, but T-Mobile users are clearly the winners here.
