Apple Sues Samsung Again, This Time In Korea
Apple claims that Samsung is ripping it off by copying no more than 25 smartphones from Cupertino’s iPhone design and, even though Apple and Samsung high-level executives are rumored to be in talks for a settlement, the saga continues with another patent suit filed by Cupertino.
The new lawsuit is filed in South Korea, Samsung’s home, and Apple claims that several Samsung products are infringing its patents. A Cupertino spokesman said that “it is no coincidence that Samsung’s latest products look a lot like the iPhone and iPad from the shape of the hardware to the user interface and even the packaging”.
The battle is not one-sided though as Samsung has also filed suits against Apple, in its defense, in South Korea, Japan and Germany, as well as in the U.S. Regardless of what the outcome will be, the relationship between the two companies is coming to an end, Apple being rumored to switch from Samsung, as a chip maker for its iPhones, to TSMC from 2012.
