Samsung Dart Gets Ready for June 15 Release With New, Big Pics

Not every new Android that we’re looking out for is necessarily a top-tier, multi-core powerhouse with a high-res display. Though those may receive the lion’s share of our attention, smaller, less powerful, and most importantly cheaper smartphones have the potential to to get the smartphone experience out into the hands of as many mobile phone users as possible. Enter, Androids like the recently-uncovered Samsung Dart, a mini Galaxy S with a 600MHz processor and a QVGA display.

Last week we caught a glimpse of what the Dart will look like, and heard about a possible June 15 release date. Since then, we’ve seen some additional evidence in favor of June 15, and come across some nice, big photos showing off what to expect from the Dart.

The big question now is what the Dart will be priced. If it ends up on T-Mobile prepaid, like we’ve heard it will, it could become a very attractive option for someone looking to avoid a long-term contract, especially if out-of-pocket costs can be kept well below what you’d normally shell out for a new, subsidized smartphone. Hopefully we’ll find out for sure this Wednesday.
