Improved Sony Ericsson Xperia Play To Sport HDMI Out?

We could file this under “fake” right from the start but maybe, just maybe, we can give it the benefit of the doubt. The Sony Ericsson Xperia Play, unlike the Xperia Arc with which was launched together at MWC, does not feature a HDMI port which was rather strange for a dedicated gaming handset.

According to the image attached, there’s allegedly an Xperia Play hooked up to a TV via a cable. The cable could be a mini HDMI cable or a microUSB to HDMI, or might as well be a fake. Is Sony Ericsson working on an improved Xperia Play? Does the Xperia Play already support HDMI out via it’s microUSB but needs proper cable and activation? Is the above fake? You judge but the smartphone would hugely benefit from such a feature!
