Apple Trademarks iCloud in Europe, Claims Ownership of iCloud.com

Apple’s iCloud has been rumored to be mirroring your iTunes library with the cloud and more but until Steve Jobs himself introduces the new service, well, it’s just rumors.

Meanwhile Cupertino has filed for trademark at the European Trademark Office for the term iCloud that would offer “delivering digital music by telecommunications, electronic storage, online social networking services, multimedia content for a fee or pre-paid subscription, computer software, electronic books and magazines, entertainment, photographic services, business management and advertising services, games, headgear and digital devices/computers”. Sounds like iTunes on steroids and in the cloud!

On a side note, there were rumors of Apple purchasing the iCloud.com domain and it appears that the company has claimed ownership. The description clearly states now that the owner is Apple Inc. and rumors circulate Cupertino paid $4.5 million for that title. We’ll definitely know more next week at WWDC and you have to be excited, Apple fan or not!
