The LG Optimus 3D — joining AT&T as the LG Thrill 4G — is going to be packed with the world’s first three dimensional augmented-reality browser Wikitude 3D — maybe getting another Guinness record for a world’s first.

Many world’s firsts here: world’s first dual-core, dual-channel, dual-memory architecture, the first full 3D platform providing glasses-free viewing, recording and sharing of 3D content as well as the world’s first 3D augmented-reality browser. What does this mean besides all the marketing talk?

While 2D AR only displays overlapped objects, the new 3D AR browser shows places, landmarks and objects in 3D making them easier to distinguish. Over 100 million locations around the world and contributions from more than 1,000 content providers are collected and present in Wikitude 3D’s database and the browser itself will be available to download for free from LG World, LG’s own application store, staring in the middle of June.
