Sony Ericsson Unveils Xperia Acro, Japanese Xperia Arc
After recently introducing the Xperia mini and mini pro smartphones, Sony Ericsson has unveiled the Xperia Acro — think of it as the Japanese version of the Xperia Arc — which hasn’t been one of the most well kept secrets with all the leaks we’ve seen since it appeared in the PC Companion Software.
Designed specifically for the needs of users in Japan, the Xperia Acro runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread and sports a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. You’ve got the 4.2-inch Sony Ericsson Reality Display with the Mobile BRAVIA Engine, 8.1-megapixel camera with Exmor R backlit sensor for improved light sensitivity, 512MB of ROM, 512MB of RAM and 8GB microSD card (upgradable to 32GB) plus the usual Bluetooth, GPS, WiFi, HDMI-out.
Being a Japanese version it sports mobile TV functionality, your obligatory IrDA port and mobile wallet functionality. It will be available (in Japan) this summer in two color variants, one black and one white
