Back in December 2010 we reported an issue with the ear peace on early versions of the Motorola Defy. Most were able to get warranty service on their defective devices, but others weren’t (for various reasons).

If you’re one of those that somehow voided your warranty and want to get your ear piece to work correctly again, now you can! Thanks to some hacking by XDA-Developers forum member wizard123 you now have a tutorial on how you can replace your failed ear piece.

Unfortunately, you will have to replace the defective one and the fix requires dismantling your smartphone. For those of you up to the challenge, head over to the source for the full set of instructions.
