Windows Phone 7 App Roundup 12 Apr 2011

In this episode of the Windows Phone 7 App Roundup we demonstrate five applications in 30 seconds each. These apps will entertain, find the lyrics to that song playing, and get revenge on that paper from rock-paper-scissors. To download these apps directly to your WP7 device, just click on the title of the application and the Zune software will automatically launch to the app in Marketplace. If you have the free Microsoft Tag app installed on your WP7 device just snap a picture of the Tag image and the mobile Marketplace will navigate to that app.

Lyrics Now – A free application

Lyrics Now is a great app for anyone that enjoys singing or likes to analyze lyrics from song. The app is capable of deciphering the song playing through Zune and then displays the lyrics. There are options to search for keywords or by title and artist.

SuperTube – Trial and $1.29 full version

SuperTube is a simple app that makes searching through YouTube on a Windows Phone 7 smartphone a breeze. There are options to either stream the video or download it directly to your phone.

WP Bench – A free application

WP Bench is a nice app to test the benchmark speeds of your Windows Phone 7 smartphone. There are options to test the battery life and even check the display to make sure there are no dead pixels. The results are displayed within a few seconds of starting the benchmark.

Rock’s Revenge – A free application

Similar to Angry Birds, Rock’s Revenge allows you to take revenge on that paper from the “game” rock-paper-scissors. Launch the rocks from the slingshot to have them fly through the air and destroy the paper. This game seems a little more challenging than other games of this style.

Need For Speed Undercover – Trial and $4.99 full version

Need For Speed Undercover is probably the best racing game available to the Windows Phone 7 platform. There are options to use turbo and even drift through corners to gain more points.
